PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Exploring the unspoiled Östergötland archipelago by kayak

Under the professional guidance of experienced outdoor guides, you'll paddle to new islands each day, where we'll camp under the stars. This tour is perfect for you if you enjoy being active and love adventures, regardless of your kayaking or breathing experience. We want all participants to be able to enjoy the Swedish wilderness while kayaking at their own pace, and we offer a variety of breathing options so everyone can practice at their own level.

orientation

Learn how to orient yourself and navigate using a map and compass in the island world.

Offline is the new luxury

Offline is the new luxury – switch off completely. It's entirely up to you to take this opportunity to go offline. We highly recommend it! For the whole week or just a few days. Your guides will carry your smartphone with them on the trip and can be contacted by the people you've selected. This way, you can relax completely and still be reachable in case of emergency, without the temptation to scroll through your phone again.

Learn outdoor skills

Each day you'll set up your own camp on a new island. Learn essential outdoor skills such as pitching a camp with tarpaulin and rope, tying knots, and cooking over an open fire – a perfect blend of adventure and practical skills.

Strengthening mental and physical resilience

By combining breathing techniques, you improve your mental strength, promote regeneration, and increase your physical and mental resilience. This unique experience helps you to deal with stressful situations more consciously and gain new energy for everyday life.

Images and videos

A photographer and videographer will accompany you on the trip, so you'll get high-quality photos and videos of the adventure without having to be constantly behind the lens yourself.

Guided breathwork sessions

Discover the transformative power of breathwork under expert guidance. Learn how targeted breathing techniques can positively influence both your body and mind, reduce stress, and boost your energy.

Healthy eating

A well-planned nutrition plan will accompany you throughout your active holiday. Three varied meals will be freshly prepared for you every day so you feel energized all week long. If you have food intolerances, or follow a vegetarian or vegan diet, we will gladly accommodate your needs.

PACKING LIST

WEEKLY PROGRAMME

Day 1 – Arrival

We meet at 10:00 a.m. at the meeting point at Kust Camp, by the Ostkustenkajak teepee.

After a welcome and a short, unconventional round of introductions, you will be shown all the equipment. We will show you the group equipment that will be available to you throughout the week. You will be given your tarp and ropes – these will be your protective roof during this adventure.

This is followed by a thorough introduction to the kayaks, safety equipment and behaviour on the water. Once all participants feel confident and all questions have been answered, we will start loading our luggage. With a lot of patience, we pack the kayaks and play ‘Tetris’ until everything has found its place.

After a short warm-up, we get into the kayaks and paddle for about 60 to 90 minutes to our first island. There, we will reach land for the first time. While you explore the island on your own, your guides prepare the group camp and a delicious lunch.

Well fed, you then learn the first two knots you need to know to stretch your tarp and set up your bedroom. Your guides help you find a suitable place to set up your first camp for the night.

After this eventful day, you will have time to yourself – to relax or take part in the first breathing technique session. The supporting programme is always voluntary.

After dinner, we will end the evening together by the water.

Day 2 to Day 6 – Adventure

We will start together with breakfast and give an overview of the day ahead. We adapt our paddling routes, schedules and programme items to your needs and the weather conditions on a daily basis. We usually spend 2 to 3 hours a day on the water.

While we dismantle our camp and stow our luggage in the kayaks, lunch is already being prepared in the kitchen. We take this with us and stop for a break on a cosy island along the way.

After a short warm-up, we paddle leisurely along the route to our respective destination island. There is much to discover along the way: impressive natural spectacles, numerous bird species and, with a little luck, even a white-tailed eagle or a mink.

Once we arrive at our idyllic island, we unload the kayaks and set up camp and sleeping areas. There are always time slots to learn more outdoor skills or simply enjoy yourself: exploring the island, reading, swimming, fishing or consciously doing nothing.

In several sequences, you will learn how to navigate with a map and compass. By the end of the week, you will be able to find your way between the islands independently.

Depending on the day, we will enjoy dinner at the camp or at a particularly beautiful spot on the island. We will end the evenings with late sunsets or around the campfire.

Day 7 – Return

On the day of our return, we will enjoy one last morning together at the camp before paddling back to Ekön. There we unload the kayaks, clean them and return the equipment. Then we pack up our personal belongings.

Then it's time to slowly return to civilisation. Depending on your individual travel arrangements, the journey home will vary. We say goodbye with a heavy heart – with many unforgettable memories in our luggage – and set off on our journey back to our loved ones.

See you next time!

ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE

Recommendation

We recommend that you travel to Sweden on the Friday before the start of your kayaking adventure and stay overnight at the campsite in either Valdemarsvik or Ekön. This will ensure a relaxed arrival on Saturday and allow you to start your first day of adventure stress-free, right next to the meeting point.
